Sometime ago, phone makers agreed to start using micro-USB cables for their chargers, which is good. Unfortunately, they are doing it wrong. Been wondering this for few years and I cannot understand why cannot they make a charger and USB cable, not a charger that has a cable attached to it permanently, but two different things altogether. A charger with USB port on its side and just a regular USB cable.
It would add few cents to manufacturing cost, but it would be much handier and people wouldn't have to buy a different cable to connect their phone to their computers.
Hmm, maybe someone has already patented this idea, and others aren't just willing to pay for using it. If it ain't patented it's mine, my idea and send in the royalties to… just kidding, it should be industry standard and free to use.
Just add that USB port to the side of the charger! Please.
USB Mini plug in the picture, just because my camera, mp3 player and phone use it and I haven't got any micro-USB cables.
Strange, all the usb style chargers I have are already made that way. :sherlock:.
Ooh, progress! That’s good to know. Who made them?
The chinese of course! :p.(although one came with my Telefunken mp3/4/5 player )
It’s good to know that at least some manufacturers are thinking forwards.
You don’t a need charger with a USB port, that’s way. I welcome micro-USB, there is a cable from Canon camera and i can stick it in what ever i want and there are still a shoe box of cables on table from all kinds of phones and devices, i will just put that in trashcan and use ONE cable that will do data connect + power…
